John has been working for Dan's Dog Walking since 2015 and his furry roommates are his two adorable cats, Patches and Odie.
John rescued Odie at a very young age and the little guy was so nervous in his new surroundings that his new dad has some trouble getting him to warm up. About a week after Odie came home, John was woken up in the middle of the night by a strange pressure on his head. He opened his eyes to find his new friend sleeping on his face and will never forget the day that he and Odie became best buddies!
Before working for Dan's Dog Walking, John experienced somewhat of a sadness at each job that he worked; he just didn't feel useful and couldn't find the self of fulfillment that he had always wanted. Since the day he started working with animals John not only sees how he makes a difference in the dog's moods and happiness, but also in his own! Spending time with animals has taught John some valuable lessons in patience and understanding that he has been proud to implement in his own life outside of work.
John remembers his first time taking care of Lila as a puppy: he walked in to see the cat, Riggins, sitting next to her crate and Lila had her paw sticking out as if they were holding hands. He and Lila then went outside and John will never forget how excited she was to see the world outside of the house! They ran around the yard and, when Lila finally took her first poo outside, she smiled the proudest smile and ran over to jump right into John's arms!
He might be a big guy, but that definitely doesn't stop John from talking in a baby voice whenever he sees his buddies. There have even been a few times when a client has been home to catch him!
When asked about his special skills, John confidently stated that "there has never been a dog who hasn't enjoyed a belly rub... even cats enjoy a belly rub from me!"
